Meet Tucker, the beloved English Mastiff of Mechelle, President and Founder of Red Collar Rescue & Recovery.

After an unexpected escape from a boarding kennel, Tucker survived 22 long days alone in the desert. He lost 48 pounds—but never lost hope.

Throughout those 22 days, one truth became clear to Mechelle: there was no local team with the experience and specialized skills needed to safely recover a lost dog like Tucker.

What began as a desperate search for one beloved dog soon revealed something bigger—a need in the community and a calling to help other families facing the unimaginable.

From Tucker’s story, Red Collar Rescue & Recovery was born.

Today, Red Collar helps bring lost dogs home and gives at-risk abandoned dogs a second chance through expert recovery strategies, humane trapping, community education, and partnerships with others who believe every dog deserves a chance to be safe.

Because no family should have to face the loss of a beloved dog alone—and no dog in crisis should be without someone willing to help.
